How to attack the Low GPA bug?
1. Build a stellar alternative transcript.
Issues:
- High cost
- Possible lack of time to build a strong transcript - atleast 4 courses
- Uncertainty of grades - I have to HAVE TO make an A in all the courses
Possible Schools:
UCLA/UCB/Harvard - of which UCLA has the best & cheapest ($525 each!) collection of courses available for distance learning.
(Are there others?)
and
2. Ace GMAT
Are there other options to address this weakness?
Relentless scouring of forums has only left me discouraged. And, when I ask the heavens, they respond with a lacklustre drizzle.

I was in the same low GPA boat (I still am!)- since I am applying for fall08, I didnt hv time for taking courses, but thats a good option. With a GPA below mid80% for all my target schools, my only option was get a GMAT above mid80% which (thankfully) I did!
I saw a comment on S2S, which mentioned that low GPA/ high GMAT can sometimes give the impression "intelligent but lazy" so my intent is to disprove this thru my recos. Hope this helps...
Since my work ex is on the lower end (3.5 yrs at the time of application) - I really need to do stuff to convince the adcom that I have grown up & I am capable of handling the academic rigour.
Its a tough world but atleast there is a way to work on weaknesses :)
Good luck with ur app!
